Comment For 4k HD Risen ღ

Name : Colin Covert / Alias : Minneapolis Star Tribune
What a good surprise it was to watch a biblical feature less preachy, less stuffy and more entertaining than most. "Risen" is an original crime-fiction take on a story as old as stories get.

Name : Michael Nordine / Alias : Village Voice
Despite not doing much more than preach to the choir, Risen is still more nuanced than the lion's share of recent faith-based dramas.

Name : Ann Hornaday / Alias : Washington Post
Viewers already well-versed in the greatest story ever told might find their interest piqued by the filmmakers' unconventional take. It's unlikely, however, that "Risen" will preach to anyone outside the choir.

Name : Mick LaSalle / Alias : San Francisco Chronicle
Whatever your religious affiliation, you will come away thinking that if all this did actually happen, it probably happened something like this.

Name : Bill Goodykoontz / Alias : Arizona Republic
It's not especially challenging. But it is several steps up from some faith-based fare, and it will doubtless appeal to its target audience.

Name : Inkoo Kang / Alias : TheWrap
A fairly ambitious picture tailor-made for that slice of the Christian audience accustomed to the tropes and beats of prestige cable dramas.

Name : Katie Walsh / Alias : Los Angeles Times
"Risen" is a fascinating cultural artifact, but as a film, it's destined for no glory greater than as an appropriate cable rerun on Easter.

Name : Christian Holub / Alias : Entertainment Weekly
Risen is more entertaining than Bible-adjacent stories are usually allowed to be.

Name : Richard Roeper / Alias : Chicago Sun-Times
Fiennes sticks with the brooding, stoic performance, even when Clavius is undergoing some major changes. It's not his best work.

Name : Joshua Rothkopf / Alias : Time Out
It's not often that faith-based films, competing in the same marketplace that rewards action, embrace the deeper, more difficult idea of meeting hate with love, but Risen tries.

Name : Justin Chang / Alias : Variety
Whether or not it triggers a craze for divinely inspired detective stories, "Risen" makes a decent case for itself as the "Columbo" of the genre: It's amiable, creaky and not remotely predicated on the element of surprise.

Name : Stephen Whitty / Alias : New York Daily News
Reynolds' gets many things right: the blasted look of the desert, the dusty provincial look of a far-flung Roman outpost. And the story he tells is both serious and modest.

Name : Bilge Ebiri / Alias : New York Magazine/Vulture
For a film that could have easily become bogged down in Sunday School reverence, or culture-war opportunism, Risen presents an intriguing, oblique approach to a Bible movie.

Name : Peter Keough / Alias : Boston Globe
We know how it turns out, but seeing from the point of view of someone who doesn't know and doesn't believe adds more cogency.

Name : Kyle Smith / Alias : New York Post
A low-IQ affair that supposes that the Gospels will sound more convincing if seen through the eyes of a skeptic. Instead, it seeks to improve the New Testament by putting a layer of Naugahyde upholstery on it.

Name : Soren Anderson / Alias : Seattle Times
Fiennes is superb, portraying a man slowly transformed by events that shake his beliefs about the world and his place in it to their core.

Name : Adam Graham / Alias : Detroit News
"Risen" was never meant as anything but a tool for the converted. Talk about preaching to the choir.

Name : Tirdad Derakhshani / Alias : Philadelphia Inquirer
While it descends too often into the melodramatic, it's a solid, smart picture and a welcome addition to the genre.

Name : Amy Nicholson / Alias : MTV
It's pointed about how we treat today's zealots, as when Clavius likens the pain of crucification to "sucking air through a wet cloth" - a description of waterboarding.

Name : Ignatiy Vishnevetsky / Alias : AV Club
The film ends up falling into a loop of abortive climaxes, set against an indistinguishable beige-gray backdrop of limestone, before the inevitable cheap-looking flash of CGI light in a scraggly field.

Name : Kate Taylor / Alias : Globe and Mail
The film features a lush historical setting and some satisfying action scenes, but the dialogue is often laughable, a mix of the pseudo-archaic with oddly contemporary lingo.

Name : Peter Howell / Alias : Toronto Star
It's intended primarily for an audience of Christian believers, but genuine drama precedes the preaching.

Name : Jim Slotek / Alias : Toronto Sun
It's nice to finally see the Messiah portrayed by somebody who'd probably get extra attention at a U.S. airport by Homeland Security.

Name : Jeannette Catsoulis / Alias : New York Times
If you drink every time you're reminded of Monty Python's 1979 Judean jaunt, "Life of Brian," you might just make it through to the end.

Comment For I'll See You In My Dreams Full Movie Deutsch

Name : Rex Reed / Alias : New York Observer
The tender magnetism of Blythe Danner turns an intelligent, sensitive story of love among the not so young into a work of art.

Name : Justin Chang / Alias : Variety
Blythe Danner gives a deeply felt performance as a widow slowly embracing the challenges of old age in this pleasant romantic dramedy.

Name : Lindsey Bahr / Alias : Associated Press
Writer-director Brett Haley hasn't done anything revolutionary with this refined, sweet film, but the world he creates feels authentic and comfortably lived in.

Name : Calvin Wilson / Alias : St. Louis Post-Dispatch
"I'll See You in My Dreams" is at once funny and poignant - and not just for moviegoers of a certain age.

Name : Bilge Ebiri / Alias : New York Magazine/Vulture
There are three reasons to see I'll See You in My Dreams. Blythe Danner is Reason No. 1. She also happens to be Reasons Nos. 2 and 3.

Name : Stephanie Merry / Alias : Washington Post
The drama serves as a pleasant reminder that no matter how old we get, we never really become experts at life. And who would want to? The fumbling is often the most interesting part.

Name : Ty Burr / Alias : Boston Globe
"I'll See You in My Dreams" may be the first movie since 1974's "Lovin' Molly" to put Danner at its center; the results are a minor revelation and a reminder of where the real acting talent in this family lies.

Name : Linda Barnard / Alias : Toronto Star
Haley allows Danner to be exquisite as Carol, never rushing while allowing the actress to explore every nuance of her character. We casually fall in step with her, grateful to be there.

Name : Inkoo Kang / Alias : TheWrap
A far cry from the Nancy Meyers rom-com promised by its trailer, Brett Haley's directorial debut is a poignant if slight drama elevated by its impressive candor and by Blythe Danner's radiant performance.

Name : Joe McGovern / Alias : Entertainment Weekly
The breezy, tender moments between Blythe Danner and Sam Elliott, two great unsung troupers of American acting for 40 years, would make for a blissful short film.

Name : John Hartl / Alias : Seattle Times
[Danner is] clearly having a ball with this character.

Name : Lou Lumenick / Alias : New York Post
Danner shines in scene after scene.

Name : Ben Sachs / Alias : Chicago Reader
A nuanced lead performance by Blythe Danner anchors this better-than-average entry in the growing subgenre of light dramas about Baby Boomers learning to enjoy retirement.

Name : Katharine Pushkar / Alias : New York Daily News
The movie is by turns a romance, a chick flick, a coming-of-age film and even a stoner movie. There's something for everyone, with the possible exception of cretins who don't appreciate great writing, casting, directing and especially acting.

Name : Steven Rea / Alias : Philadelphia Inquirer
I'll See You in My Dreams is delicate and nuanced, with writing that rejects, or at least reshapes, the cliches of movies about people facing the glare of their sunset years.

Name : Stephen Holden / Alias : New York Times
A modest, quietly touching portrait of an older woman radiantly embodied by Blythe Danner.

Name : Mick LaSalle / Alias : San Francisco Chronicle
By keeping sentimentality out, "I'll See You in My Dreams" leaves space for real emotion.

Name : Michael Phillips / Alias : Chicago Tribune
The actors are terrific. It's too bad, though, that co-writer, editor and director Brett Haley settles for so little.

Name : Joe Morgenstern / Alias : Wall Street Journal
Carol's life is often good, but Ms. Danner makes her loneliness palpable.

Name : Kyle Smith / Alias : New York Post
A polished piece of entertainment.

Name : Stephanie Zacharek / Alias : Village Voice
It's hopeful and realistic in equal measure, and it's anchored by a quietly resplendent performance from Danner, who brings a featherduster touch to everything she does.

Name : Bosley Crowther / Alias : New York Times
If the names of Gus Kahn and Danny Thomas are vague or unfamiliar to you now, just keep your ear close to the sidewalk; you'll be hearing a lot of them soon.

Name : Leslie Felperin / Alias : Hollywood Reporter
Blythe Danner lands her best screen role in years as a retired widow who decides to dip a tentative toe into the dating pool in indie comedy I'll See You in My Dreams.

Name : Betsy Sharkey / Alias : Los Angeles Times
What "I'll See You" does particularly well is get at how any relationship - whatever your age - comes with a limited, rather than a lifetime, warranty.

Name : Nathalie Atkinson / Alias : Globe and Mail
The film cleverly uses the conventions more typical of romantic comedies several decades its junior .

Name : Colin Covert / Alias : Minneapolis Star Tribune
The film has a fresh tone and free-floating original storytelling. Nobody is as predictable as they first appear.

Name : Bill Goodykoontz / Alias : Arizona Republic
"I'll See You in My Dreams" is a remarkably pleasant experience at the movies.

Name : Keith Uhlich / Alias : AV Club
Elliott and Danner fare best together, mainly because of their swoon-worthy chemistry; it's surprising that they've never worked together before this.

Name : Patrick Dunn / Alias : Detroit News
A touching, funny and thoughtful film that trades in honesty rather than artifice.
